Blizzard Collaborates with Netflix on Animated Diablo Show

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a partnership with Netflix, debuting with an animated adaptation of Diablo. This was revealed by Johanna Faries, Blizzard’s president, at BlizzCon 2026. Though no footage or release date was provided, Faries hinted at more exciting developments for Overwatch, Warcraft, and other franchises.

In recent years, the trend of video game adaptations has accelerated, with Netflix having already launched series based on Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, and League of Legends, among others. Other streaming platforms are also entering this space, developing adaptations for God of War, Life Is Strange, and classic games like Legend of Zelda and Minecraft.

Despite closing two development studios, Netflix remains committed to interactive storytelling and recently made waves by streaming an extended preview for Grand Theft Auto 6, boosting its subscriber base.

Fans are invited to discuss their thoughts on the Diablo adaptation in the official Discord server. For more updates, readers can check out the coverage on Insider Gaming and subscribe to the weekly newsletter for the latest news.
