Bill Maher criticizes Macklemore’s position on Gaza, claiming that celebrity ‘moral ambiguity’ is contributing to antisemitism.

Bill Maher, on the first night of Rosh Hashanah, used his platform to criticize Macklemore and other celebrities who have made anti-Israel statements concerning the Gaza conflict. On HBO’s “Real Time,” he addressed the Democratic Party’s vocal criticism of Israel, emphasizing that the situation in Gaza is not genocide but a counterattack in a war.

Maher specifically called out Macklemore for his comments during a concert, where he expressed support for Palestine, stating, “I know enough to know this is a genocide,” which Maher disputed vehemently. He argued that the claim of genocide is false and harmful, contributing to a rise in antisemitism, and criticized the Democratic Party for its stance on the issue, likening it to one of its lowest points in history.

Additionally, Jason Mudd, CEO of Axia Public Relations, noted that Macklemore’s public position on Israel could alienate a portion of his audience, highlighting the risks associated with celebrities taking political stances.
