IKEA has introduced the Kallax Storageborn companion mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, available on PC and Xbox. This unexpected collaboration aims to alleviate players’ inventory management issues, responding to feedback on social media. The free mod features a voiced character—portrayed by comic actor Matt Berry—who guides players in using the Kallax storage.
IKEA designed this mod to reflect its real-world solutions, targeting players who often face the “evils of encumbrance and disorganization” in the game. This creative crossover not only offers a fun gaming experience but also showcases IKEA’s foray into the gaming sphere, highlighting a quest where gamers must uncover the Kallax’s origin and defeat the Clutter Golem.
Interested players can download the mod for free from Bethesda’s website. Additionally, the mod includes new items such as the Allenblade weapon and blue-and-yellow-themed armor alongside the Kallax.
This venture highlights how non-tech brands like IKEA engage with gaming, following similar moves by other brands, such as the KFC console.
