Consumers Energy Unveils New Energy Supply Plan

Consumers Energy has launched an innovative Energy Supply Plan that aims to enhance the reliability of energy across Michigan’s infrastructure. This comprehensive 20-year strategy includes a significant investment in over 19 gigawatts of clean energy resources, incorporating wind, solar, and battery storage solutions. The plan aligns with the goals set forth in Michigan’s 2023 energy legislation.
A key component of this initiative will be two natural gas plants located in Bay and Genesee counties, which are set to serve as primary power sources for various industrial sites throughout mid-Michigan.
In addition to ensuring a sustainable energy supply, the plan is expected to create new job opportunities and broaden customer programs as implementation progresses.
