Rams Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald will not make the trip to Australia for the Week 1 matchup against the 49ers.

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald will not play against the San Francisco 49ers in their Week 1 matchup. Coach Sean McVay announced that after coming out of retirement, Donald isn’t ready for game action yet. Although Donald has recovered well, the decision has been made for the team’s best interest.

McVay expressed confidence in the defensive line depth with players like Coby, Fisk, Puna Ford, and Tyler Davis ready to step up. While the 49ers had anticipated Donald’s return, McVay believes it’s better for Donald to prepare at his own pace.

The Rams will return from Australia after their game and will next play on Monday night against the Giants in Week 2.
