Governor Embarks on Trade Mission to Mexico City – Governor’s Office

SANTA FE ─ Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has arrived in Mexico City as part of a trade mission aimed at exploring economic partnership opportunities between New Mexico and Mexico.

The governor intends to advance potential trade deals related to natural gas exports during this official visit. She will engage with Mexican government officials, energy sector leaders, and key business representatives. Accompanying her on this mission are Caroline Buerkle, deputy chief of operations in the Governor’s Office, and New Mexico Economic Development Secretary Rob Black.

The state is covering the costs of their travel.

This trade mission builds on the governor’s ongoing efforts to reduce emissions while promoting the export of clean natural gas.

Gov. Lujan Grisham is scheduled to return to New Mexico on Tuesday, September 15. During her absence, Lt. Gov. Howie Morales will oversee the state government.
