Consumers Energy is extending the decision on the sale of 13 Michigan dams by 60 days to address regulatory concerns. The company plans to sell the dams to Confluence Hydro and then purchase the power for 30 years, claiming this will maintain the dams and offer the most economical option for customers. The Michigan Public Service Commission is expected to make a decision in November.
