Hello everyone,
I’m excited to share that Astra is now available. However, my initial experience with it has been challenging—I ended up consuming 4 billion tokens over the weekend and didn’t accomplish much of anything!
I regret also using up my accumulated resets, feeling frustrated for submitting all kinds of requests, both long and short.
At this point, I can’t tell if Astra represents a major leap in capability. Whenever a new model is released, I often feel it’s just a skill issue on my part. That said, I’ve seen some incredible showcases on social media where people are creating stunning visuals, like 3D worlds and games.
Some Notable Outputs
Here are a couple of things I generated that might be worth sharing, even though I’m not sure what to do with them just yet:
Here’s a piece titled ‘forgotten devices.’ These visuals were crafted using an image generation tool, which is quite impressive! My concept was to have multiple images you could click and interact with—if only I had tokens left!
Additionally, you’ll notice in the bottom-left corner that my agent created three variations of the initial design. I always prefer having multiple versions when beginning a project to explore which direction resonates most with me.
Then there’s this concept called ‘world radio.’ It mimics an older iPod interface and streams live radio stations from across the globe. While I’m still figuring out how to improve it (there are some quirks, especially with the top button!), it shows potential.
Looking Ahead
I plan to dedicate some time this week to uncover better ways to work with Astra than what I’ve attempted so far, especially considering the token consumption. I’ll share my findings with you soon.
Astra is the first model in the GPT-6 family. It outperforms ARC-AGI-3, ranks the highest on Zapier’s AutomationBench, and is priced similarly to Fable 5.1. While it has high potential, its performance can be inconsistent.
It’s more of a show horse than a workhorse, Kieran Klaassen
I have a love-hate relationship with this model, Theo
Nonetheless, I remain optimistic. The same pattern occurred with the GPT-5 launch. By the time we reached GPT-5.3, it became a reliable model.
Astra has the capability to draw in Canva—yes, just like we would with a computer, only much better. Its computing speed is quick enough to learn piano as well!
What Others Are Achieving with Astra
In addition, with Codex, Astra can now ask questions without waiting for answers. It continues executing tasks when it doesn’t require your input or can assume an answer, integrating your feedback seamlessly.
OpenAI has announced it reached its goal of an automated research intern. These agents can handle complex research assignments that would take skilled individuals days to complete, while humans provide guidance and evaluate the outcomes. The next milestone is an automated AI researcher slated for March 2028.
On another note, you’ll soon be able to alter Claude Code’s behavior. Anthropic is piloting a feature that allows Claude Code to create plugins—enabling customization of the interface, tracking actions, or limiting agent capabilities. It’s still in the testing phase, and they welcome feedback.
Inworld has developed Realtime TTS-2, geared for the next generation of consumer applications. This system combines text-based voice design, under-100ms latency at P99, and a single voice identity across over 200 languages. Discover how to give your AI applications a voice.*
Among the exciting developments, a community member used GPT-6 Astra to create a 3D website that disassembles the male anatomy into 2,234 modeled pieces! The online renaissance of learning is certainly upon us!

It’s astonishing how innovative these tools can be! Remember to check out the replies and quotes on these posts—there are so many incredible personal websites that have come to life.
In closing, the launch of Astra has opened up new avenues for creativity and exploration. As I continue to delve deeper into its features, I look forward to discovering more innovative uses and sharing them with all of you.
