Hong Kong Star Jeffrey Ngai Splurges on $16,000 Rental Property

Hong Kong singer, actor, and model Jeffrey Ngai Tsun-sang has recently moved into a luxurious duplex in Mid-Levels East, paying a monthly rent of HK$130,000 (approximately US$16,581). This reflects a growing demand for high-end rentals in the area, as noted by market sources.

Ngai, 28, will be living next to his close friend, singer-songwriter Tyson Yoshi (Ben Cheng Tsun-yin). Joseph Yan, a senior property director at Centaline Property, reported that the luxury rental market remains strong, with 141 rental transactions recorded in The Peak and Southern district last August. Properties with rents between HK$80,000 and HK$150,000 are particularly popular, especially in Repulse Bay.

Ngai’s market value is comparable to the boy band Mirror, with his ad endorsement fees starting at over HK$1 million and appearance fees at no less than HK$500,000. He is projected to earn over HK$10 million annually.

Summer is typically a prime time for luxury rentals in Hong Kong, as families seek homes in areas with quality schools. By the second half of the year, activity in the luxury property market tends to increase. Recently, media reported that DJ Bonnie Wong Ching-yi, also known as Ah Jeng, has moved to Kadoorie Hill, a prestigious area, at a monthly rent of HK$70,000.
