Gasgoo Munich – Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) has officially entered into strategic cooperation agreements with Xi’an Taijin New Energy & Materials Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Huike New Materials Co., Ltd. This collaboration aims to forge a robust, long-term partnership focusing on several key areas such as centralized equipment procurement, capacity building, cost pricing, collaborative R&D, and shared green electricity.
Key Aspects of the Partnership:

Unified Equipment Management: CATL and TJNE will implement a consolidated management approach for planning, standards, and centralized procurement. TJNE will also deliver standardized services to support CATL’s expansion efforts, promoting cost-effectiveness and technological advancements.

Lithium Battery Copper Foil Capacity: CATL is set to collaborate with Shenzhen Huike and an additional partner to build a substantial capacity of 400,000 tons of lithium battery copper foil over the next three years. A new pricing model based on “cost-plus, reasonable profit, and risk-sharing” will be adopted, fostering long-term commitments concerning supply volumes and processing fees.

Financial Support: To ensure effective partnership execution, CATL will extend financial assistance to its collaborators through advance payments and tailored payment terms.
This partnership marks a significant transition in the lithium copper foil sector, moving away from conventional transactional relationships toward a more collaborative model focused on joint development and governance. CATL aims to dismantle traditional pricing and capacity barriers, ultimately fostering a self-reliant and mutually advantageous industrial ecosystem.
