Low-Cost Pet Vaccine Clinic in Leominster on Sept. 12
LEOMINSTER — Local pet owners can now register for Second Chance Animal Services’ upcoming low-cost pet vaccine clinic on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Leominster Veterans’ Center, located at 37 Carter St.
Clinic Services Offered:
- $5 Rabies Vaccines
- Free Distemper/Parvo Vaccines
- $19 Leptospirosis Vaccines
- Microchipping for $22
This event is dedicated to the late Jeffrey Stephens, co-founder of the Fitchburg vaccine clinic series in 2011, and is organized in partnership with Be PAWsitive Therapy Pets and Friends of Fitchburg DOGS Inc.
Why Vaccination Matters
Second Chance is committed to making veterinary care accessible to all pet owners. Vaccines protect pets from preventable and often fatal diseases, enabling them to live longer, healthier lives. Unfortunately, an estimated 30% of pet owners are unable to provide preventive care, leaving many animals at risk for serious illnesses such as rabies, parvovirus in dogs, and panleukopenia in cats.
- Parvovirus is highly contagious and can be fatal, especially for young or unvaccinated dogs.
- Vaccination not only protects individual pets but also helps reduce disease spread within the community.
Microchipping Benefits
Microchipping is a reliable method to identify lost pets. Animals with microchips have a much higher chance of being reunited with their owners, providing peace of mind for families.
Lindsay Doray from Second Chance Animal Services states, “More than 50 million pets in the United States live with families who do not have access to veterinary care. Our local clinics bring life-saving vaccines into the community to protect pets and help lost pets find their way back home.”
