MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Travelers faced significant frustration at Miami International Airport on Monday, following a deadly cargo plane crash that occurred the day before. The incident disrupted the busy Labor Day travel weekend, leading to numerous delays and cancellations.
One traveler shared her challenging journey: “I started out in Buffalo, New York, went to Raleigh, then had a seven-hour layover, followed by another hour layover in Denver before finally arriving here.” Another flyer mentioned that her flight had been rescheduled three times.
The crash led to an immediate ground stop at the airport, particularly affecting inbound flights. Reports indicated nearly 150 delays and 60 cancellations by mid-morning on Monday. Some passengers reported spending over ten hours at the airport, waiting for updates, only to have their flights canceled without warning.
These delays also impacted flight crews trying to reach Miami, further complicating the situation at the airport.
