CHJCC Advises Tishrei Visitors: Ensure You Have Medical Insurance Before Traveling

Important Travel Advisory for Tishrei Guests

As the Tishrei holiday approaches, the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC) advises all visitors to secure adequate medical travel insurance before their journey. This crucial step can prevent significant financial issues in case of a medical emergency.

Why is Insurance Necessary?

Every year, numerous visitors face medical emergencies. Those without proper insurance can quickly find themselves in dire financial straits. Medical expenses in the U.S. can soar, with even minor treatments leading to bills of thousands of dollars.

Shmuly Rosenstein, Acting Chairman of CHJCC, emphasizes the importance:

“We have seen too many situations where people came without proper insurance and a medical emergency became a financial crisis. For the relatively small cost of travel insurance, this is a risk nobody should be taking.”

Coverage Guidelines

Before you travel, ensure your insurance:

  • Offers sufficient medical coverage in the U.S.
  • Is valid for your entire stay.
  • Covers all family members.
  • Clearly states limits, deductibles, and exclusions.

Act Before You Depart

Rosenstein further noted:

“Please don’t wait until there is an emergency. Before you get on the plane, make sure you and your family are covered. A few dollars spent before traveling can potentially prevent tremendous hardship later.”

Community Support

CHJCC is reaching out to synagogues, organizations, and travel groups to disseminate this message, ensuring all Tishrei guests are aware of the importance of travel insurance.

Crown Heights looks forward to welcoming guests for Tishrei.
