The article highlights the efforts of the Beijing Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Center, where international students, including Polish student Jan Jakub Zywczo, engage in traditional Chinese crafts such as woodblock printing. Zywczo, who is pursuing a doctoral degree, showcased his skills by recreating a famous artwork after just one day of instruction.
The center, opened to the public in 2024 and occupying about 2,200 square meters, serves as a hub for learning and appreciating China’s rich cultural heritage. It features 15 exhibition halls and spaces for hands-on activities, allowing visitors to explore various crafts like cloisonne and carved lacquerware.
The center aims to connect tourists to China’s cultural stories through tangible experiences. Since its trial operations began, it has hosted over 260 events, drawing more than 6,600 visitors. Yang Fang from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism emphasized the center’s role in promoting cultural understanding among foreigners.
