Richard Osman reveals the premiere date for Celebrity Traitors Season 2 | The Traitors

Richard Osman Accidentally Reveals Launch Date for Series 2 of The Celebrity Traitors

TV presenter Richard Osman appears to have inadvertently announced the premiere date for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors. During a live podcast recording of The Rest Is Entertainment, which he co-hosts with journalist Marina Hyde at London’s Southbank Centre, Osman confirmed that the new series will start on September 23.

The discussion included special guest Joe Marler, a former contestant, who mentioned the date while sharing advice for new participants. To this, Osman remarked, “By the way, to point out, it’s absolutely embargoed that it starts on September 23… the cat’s out of the bag, isn’t it?”

Osman also noted that the upcoming season has been described as “quite intense” compared to the first, which he and Marler described as more lighthearted. Marler reflected on how the new contestants seem to feel the pressure to perform well after the success of the inaugural series.

The new season will feature 21 celebrities, competing for a chance to win up to £100,000 for charity, set in a Scottish castle where they will work to identify the “traitors” among them.

The first series, which aired last autumn, attracted a peak viewership of 15.4 million and included celebrities like Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, and Paloma Faith, with comedian Alan Carr emerging as the winner. This spin-off series captured an average audience of 14.9 million—making it one of the most-watched programs of 2025.

For further details, The Guardian will be providing updates.
