Southwest Florida International Airport Sees Steady Passenger Flow During Holiday Weekend
LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) experienced a healthy stream of travelers over the long holiday weekend.
Passengers reported manageable lines and efficient movement through security, with many returning from vacations in the area. One traveler from Manchester, New Hampshire, shared, “Surprisingly, travel hasn’t been too bad. We’re heading back home today, regrettably. We really wish we could stay longer, but we’ll be back after the first of the year.”
Others echoed similar sentiments, noting that their travel experience was smoother than expected, even while traveling with pets. “Pretty easy lines, no problem at all,” one traveler remarked. “We were worried about it because we have the dogs with us, but it wasn’t difficult at all.”
Despite being one of the top 50 airports in the U.S. for passenger traffic, some travelers observed a decrease in crowds on this particular travel day. “It’s kind of empty. I’m surprised,” noted another passenger.
Passengers are reminded to arrive at least two hours before their flights to allow ample time for parking and security, and to stay updated on any flight changes or delays.
