This weekend, Kanye West returned to Chicago for his first hometown performances since 2021, drawing significant attention after several international show cancellations, a ban from the UK, and allegations regarding the AI-generated nature of his latest album, Bully. The event was highly anticipated.
On the first night, guests included Big Sean, with whom Kanye performed their 2012 hit “Clique,” followed by Sean’s solo track “IDFWU.” They were later joined by 2 Chainz for “Mercy,” and Future performed “Keep it Burnin” and “Fuck Up Some Commas.” Notably, Chicago legend Twista joined Kanye on stage for their collaborations “Overnight Celebrity” and “Slow Jamz.”
The second night featured a return of Sean and Twista, along with appearances from Young Thug, Common, Travis Scott, Don Tolliver, GLC, Consequence, and Lupe Fiasco. After five years, Kanye has been gradually returning to U.S. performances after shows in Los Angeles, Tampa, San Antonio, and New Orleans, despite a number of international shows being canceled due to his controversial remarks.
