New Co-Working Space Opens in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A new co-working space, Skeleton Dojo Social Club, has opened its doors in the Elmwood Village neighborhood, celebrating its grand opening after a year of renovations and community building.
Co-founders Tim Ruof and Falynn Waugh met online while searching for a co-working community and decided to create a space that blends the ambiance of a café with functionality for working professionals.
The newly designed space includes areas for focused work, video calls, socializing, relaxation, a meeting room, and collaborative work areas. “We wanted to create a comfy and cozy environment,” Ruof commented.
Currently, Skeleton Dojo boasts around 20 to 30 members from various fields, including publishing, therapy, accounting, and remote tech jobs. Entrepreneur Dom Crockett, a member since spring, remarked on the positive impact the space has had on his mental health as a founder, providing a supportive community for his small business.
Even as many companies transition back to in-person work after the pandemic, Waugh notes that numerous jobs remain remote or hybrid, highlighting the continued relevance of co-working spaces.
