Parton originally received her star on June 14, 1984. During her acceptance speech, she expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting its significance to her.
After her passing, Parton was laid to rest next to her husband, Carl Dean, at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. Her wishes for a private burial were honored, and in lieu of flowers, she preferred donations to her charity, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides free books to children under five.
Parton died at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer.
