Investigators believe a group is responsible for multiple gambling machine burglaries in the Chicago suburbs.
Early Friday, a Gas-N-Wash in Wheeling was targeted by at least eight men with sledgehammers who smashed open video gambling machines. Surveillance footage from a New Lenox bar shows masked individuals using large tools to break into similar machines, highlighting a trend of such crimes in the area.
Despite enhanced security measures by local businesses, they have been unable to deter the thieves. Similar break-ins have also occurred at the Peotone Travel Center.
No arrests have been made in connection with these incidents.
