Microsoft is set to implement monthly usage limits for Xbox Cloud Gaming starting November, affecting all Game Pass members. Ultimate members will receive a maximum of 15 hours of cloud gaming monthly, while essential members will have just 5 hours. Additionally, players can purchase extra gaming time through the Xbox Store.
The change comes after the service exited beta in October 2025 and was made available across all Game Pass tiers. Microsoft states this model addresses rising costs tied to increased usage and aims to help maintain the service’s quality and reliability.
Moreover, Xbox Cloud Gaming will now be accessible without a Game Pass subscription, introducing a pay-as-you-go option for players wanting occasional access to cloud gaming. This move could serve as an alternative for gamers in regions where current-gen consoles are either pricey or scarce.
