SAN ANTONIO — As of Sept. 1, CPS Energy has fully restored power after severe storms affected over 250,000 customers. The Friday night storms brought 65 mph wind gusts and nearly 2,481 lightning strikes, resulting in significant infrastructure damage. Repair efforts involved replacing over 60 utility poles, 137 transformers, and clearing debris from numerous fallen trees.

More than 80 crews, along with contractors and Pedernales Electric Cooperative, worked around the clock for restoration. The utility’s Customer Response Unit also provided food, water, and ice to over 1,000 residents at Woodlawn Lake Park.
