Investigators from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) have arrested Richard Jackson in connection with a theft of property from Duke Energy on Mechanicsville Highway in Florence, SC. Jackson faces charges of third-degree burglary and grand larceny. He and another suspect, Charles McGee, are accused of stealing around $80,000 worth of equipment, including a boat, reels of copper wire, and batteries, between August 10 and August 25, 2026.
The stolen items were recovered on North Tobin Drive following a search warrant execution. McGee has also been charged with third-degree burglary, grand larceny, transportation of stolen nonferrous metals, and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Both suspects are currently held at the Florence County Detention Center, with Jackson awaiting a bond hearing.
