Keller Postman Co-Founders Launch AI Platform for Investing in Law Firms

Keller Postman and Gerchen Capital Partners have launched Atticor Group, a platform providing administrative services to personal injury law firms. This initiative caters to the increasing trend where law firms are outsourcing back-office functions to management services organizations (MSOs) for financing AI advancements while complying with state regulations.

Currently, over six law firms are utilizing Atticor’s services, which aim to optimize legal practices by allowing lawyers to focus more on their core competencies. Keller Postman, a mass tort law firm based in Chicago, has been involved in significant cases and Gerchen Capital provides litigation funding.

Atticor, which employs over 80 staff including former employees from Keller Postman and Gerchen Capital, is positioned as an “AI-enabled platform” dedicated to personal injury law. The firm describes a strategy that combines acquisitions with a nationwide brand.

Personal injury law firms are appealing to investors due to their structure, allowing for easier consolidation and deals. Recent notable partnerships include Uplift Investors and Bottaro Injury Lawyers, along with other firms that have sought outside investments to separate their back-office operations.

As the landscape evolves, figures like Mikal Watts are exploring collaborations with investors and AI tools to enhance legal services within this sector.
