Business Bash Links Students to Campus Organizations and Job Prospects | News

Students gathered in the Schneider Hall courtyard on Sept. 17 for the annual Business Bash hosted by Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business (HCOB). The event showcased business-focused Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), departments, majors, study abroad programs, and career resources.

Networking is crucial for students, as it offers both social and professional advantages. WMU senior marketing major Blake Robey expressed that engaging with industry speakers boosted his confidence in pursuing internships. Business-related RSOs often invite industry professionals to speak during meetings, aiding students in their professional development.

John Willaert, president of Beta Alpha Psi, emphasized the importance of professional grooming, including resume building and interview skills. The HCOB Zhang Career Center presented various opportunities, such as job shadows and resume guidance.

Kaylee Bradshaw, a junior marketing major, highlighted the significance of taking initiative early in college, whether students have a clear career path or not. For more information about business-related RSOs, you can visit the HCOB website.
