Golden Pet Brands, a pet food platform, seeks IPO funding from banks, sources report | WSAU News/Talk 550 AM · 99.9 FM

Golden Pet Brands, owner of Dr. Marty Pets and other pet food brands, is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) that could value the company at over $1 billion. The company, established in 2017 and based in El Segundo, California, has enlisted Morgan Stanley and Barclays as underwriters for the potential NYSE listing, which may occur later this year.

Golden Pet Brands is known for its premium offerings for dogs and cats and operates two U.S. manufacturing facilities. The company uses an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) model and has notable backers, including Dr. Marty Goldstein, a veterinarian known for treating high-profile clients. Recently, Apu Mody was appointed CEO, and John Meloun became CFO, both bringing extensive experience from notable consumer products firms.

This IPO follows a trend of consumer-focused companies going public, as several other brands, including pet food and beauty products, are also preparing for listings.
