A recent poll revealed that dinosaurs remain a major fascination for children, with over a third expressing a desire to time travel back to the Mesozoic era to meet these prehistoric creatures. Conducted among 1,000 parents of children aged three to twelve, the survey finds that 34% of kids would choose this era as their ultimate travel destination.

- Top Attraction: The major draw for 43% of parents is the chance to see a real dinosaur.
- Other Time Travel Interests: The future ranks second, with 20% of parents showing interest, while 7% prefer ancient Egypt.
- General Interest: A striking 78% of children showed an interest in dinosaurs, with 20% of parents noting that dinosaurs are their child’s biggest fascination. Gaming, superheroes, and arts & crafts follow closely.
Favorite Dinosaurs:
- The Tyrannosaurus Rex tops the child favorites with 42%, followed by the Triceratops (11%) and the Velociraptor (9%).
- T-Rex’s enormous size intrigues 50% of parents, while 46% are captivated by their appearance and 41% by their historical timeline.
Interestingly, parents feel their children may know more about dinosaurs than they do, with only 22% claiming superior dinosaur knowledge. The study, sponsored by Park Plaza London Riverbank, concluded that 81% of parents believe learning about dinosaurs boosts children’s interest in science and history.
