Aquiline, a global private investment firm specializing in financial services and technology, has formally agreed to invest in Flourish, an innovative WealthTech platform owned by MassMutual. This investment will transition Aquiline into a controlling stakeholder after the transaction, which is expected to finalize in Q4 2026, pending standard approvals and conditions. MassMutual will still retain a significant interest in Flourish.
Flourish, based in New York, supports over 1,300 registered investment advisors (RIAs) and has grown its cash-management assets significantly, from $1 billion to $8 billion over five years. Recently, it also introduced a home-lending solution tailored specifically for independent advisors.
Aquiline aims to enhance Flourish’s offerings, helping RIAs compete against larger financial institutions. The firm’s past investments in the sector include names like Ascensus and Assetmark, making it a strategic fit for Flourish’s growth plans.
Flourish CEO Max Lane expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting a shared vision to address the evolving needs of independent advisors. Incoming executive chairman David Canter emphasized the importance of cash management and lending in the wealth management space.
