Indya Moore States They “No Longer” Identify as Nonbinary and Requests She/Her Pronouns Moving Ahead

Indya Moore recently announced a significant change in her gender identity on August 31 through an Instagram post, stating that she no longer identifies as nonbinary and uses she/her pronouns. This reflects a shift from her previous identification as nonbinary and using they/them pronouns for several years.

In her announcement, she expressed a desire for kindness and shared her new name, “Lillah,” in her Instagram bio, although she didn’t specify this as a formal name change. This update followed her earlier declaration in September 2019 where she identified as nonbinary and used they/them pronouns amidst her rise to fame for her role as Angel Evangelista in the acclaimed series Pose.

Moore’s pronoun usage also highlighted the complexities of navigating gender identity, especially considering societal pressures. Her journey has been influenced by her early experiences, including meeting a trans woman during her time in foster care who introduced her to hormone replacement therapy.

In response to her announcement, many fans and followers expressed their support, emphasizing that each trans journey is unique, and celebrating the fluid nature of identity and personal evolution.
