FLSmidth (FLS) today announces that it has signed a lifecycle agreement with Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL), one of the leading iron ore mining and metals processing companies in India. The order value has not been disclosed.
The agreement, which covers the full FLS equipment flowsheet across LMEL’s mining operations, marks a significant step in FLS’ ambition to deepen long-term customer partnerships across the Indian subcontinent. This collaboration reinforces FLS’s support of customers throughout their operational lifecycle. A notable part of the partnership involves the development of a state-of-the-art repair centre aimed at enhancing repair and service capabilities, thereby ensuring quicker responses and improved asset performance.
LMEL operates the largest iron ore mine in India and is actively scaling its production and processing capacities. This agreement represents a joint commitment to operational excellence and the responsible growth of India’s mining industry. It encompasses a full lifecycle partnership, including on-site FLS teams, tailored maintenance programs, a continuous learning initiative for upskilling, and efficient management of consumables and spare parts—all designed to maximize equipment uptime as LMEL expands.
Alanas Kraujalis, interim President of the Service Business Line at FLS, commented:
“We are pleased to enter this agreement with Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited. To be entrusted as a long-term partner for a company of LMEL’s scale and ambition is a testament to the expertise and dedication of our teams, and to the value our lifecycle approach delivers for customers. We look forward to collaborating closely with LMEL to keep their equipment performing at its peak and enhancing the advancement of mining in India.”
