First Energy has announced that it is nearing completion of equipment upgrades on 50 transmission structures between Masury in Trumbull County and Greenville in Mercer County. The upgrades include the replacement of 341 insulators and 171 crossarms, which are essential for supporting power lines on utility poles. Once the project is finished, communities served by these power lines can expect a reduction in power outages, particularly during stormy weather.
This initiative is part of First Energy’s larger Energize 365 plan, which aims to invest $36 billion by 2030 to enhance the resilience of the electrical grid.
