Niners Owner Jed York Receives Six-Game Suspension and $500K Fine from NFL for Breaching Conduct Policy | Recent NFL News, Insights, and Updates

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has faced significant penalties following violations of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He has been suspended for six games and fined $500,000 after his arrest on August 23 on misdemeanor charges related to disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools. The suspension includes the first three games of the season, allowing him to return after the team’s Week 6 game against the Washington Commanders on October 19.

In a public statement, York expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging his mistake and accepting full responsibility. He emphasized the importance of leading by example for his family and the trust he must work to regain from fans and employees of the 49ers.

During his arrest in East Palestine, Ohio, he was initially charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors later altered the charge to disorderly conduct. Following the incident, York was sentenced to one day in jail, which he was credited for time served, and completed an online course as part of his plea agreement. He has been involved in managing the 49ers since 2008, overseeing multiple playoff appearances and significant achievements for the team.
