CHOBANI’S $1.2 BILLION COMMITMENT TO LEHIGH VALLEY FACILITY SIGNALS TRUST IN PENNSYLVANIA’S WORKFORCE, FARMS, AND INDUSTRY

Chobani’s $1.2 Billion Investment to Transform Pennsylvania Dairy Industry

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA — Senator Dave McCormick announced Chobani’s significant investment in a new manufacturing facility in Upper Macungie Township, aimed at revitalizing Pennsylvania’s dairy sector. This $1.2 billion project is expected to create 900 full-time jobs and deliver the largest ever increase in demand for dairy in the state.

Once fully operational, the 1.5 million-square-foot plant will process over three billion pounds of milk annually, accounting for approximately 30% of the state’s total milk production. This development not only seeks to bolster employment but also opens new markets for more than 4,000 local dairy farmers.

Senator McCormick emphasized the importance of Chobani’s investment, highlighting its potential to generate economic growth and support local communities. With a longstanding relationship with Chobani’s leadership, McCormick expressed pride in collaborating to secure this project for Pennsylvania.

The facility will enhance the Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing landscape, creating opportunities in production, maintenance, logistics, and construction. This initiative is set to provide considerable economic benefits to the region, strengthening the workforce and local businesses.

“In Pennsylvania, we have the labor force and resources to support a project of this magnitude,” McCormick stated, reflecting on the broader impact for dairy farming families and communities across the Commonwealth.
