The exhibition titled “Riding into Reflection: A Sino-French Exhibition on Equine Culture” is currently open at Prince Kung’s Palace Museum in Beijing and will run until November 29. Co-curated by the museum and France’s Château de Chantilly, along with partnerships from The Hong Kong Jockey Club and China Tourism Group, the exhibition highlights more than 200 artefacts that showcase the rich equine cultures of China and France.
As part of the Club’s Year of the Horse campaign, the exhibition is categorized into three thematic sections: Tracing the Origins, Riding the Wind, and Unbridled Imagination. It combines various forms of art and digital technology to create an immersive experience that reveals the historical significance of horses as companions and cultural bridges.
Raymond Tam, Executive Director of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, emphasized the exhibition’s role in promoting cultural exchange and aligning with national developmental priorities. Following its run in Beijing, the exhibition will travel to Hong Kong’s Tai Kwun from late December to the end of January 2027, providing more opportunities for audiences to admire these historical treasures and fostering interest in equestrian sports.
Overall, the exhibition aims to connect individuals through the shared legacy of horses in different cultures.
