The Harris County Water Control Improvement District 110, which manages the club, is replacing facilities that have been in use for nearly 40 years due to declining attendance and swim team participation.

Demolition and New Construction: The existing pool and support buildings will be replaced with a modern facility featuring a new pool equipped with a heating and chilling system, a water slide, and a zero-depth entry for enhanced accessibility. The recreation center will include outdoor showers, a covered breezeway, an audio system, a second-floor viewing deck, and additional event space.

Timeline: Construction is scheduled to start on November 30 and aims to open by April 1, 2028, though there is hope for an earlier completion.

Cost: The renovation is projected to cost approximately $9.7 million, funded in part by a 2024 voter-approved bond aimed at enhancing parks and recreation facilities. However, funding for the pool itself will come from the district’s operating funds, as aquatics cannot be financed through bonds according to Texas law.
