TfL encourages parents to verify the validity of their children’s Zip Oyster cards.

Transport for London (TfL) is urging parents to ensure their children’s Zip Oyster photocards are up to date for free or discounted travel across London. The cards cater to different age groups:

  • Ages 5-10: Free travel on all buses, Tube, trams, and most National Rail services.
  • Ages 11-15: Free bus and tram travel, and child-rate fares for Tube and DLR.
  • Ages 16 and above: Discounts for students in further education or apprenticeships.

Applications can be submitted online, with cards typically received within two weeks.

Additionally, TfL is promoting the Weekend Hopper fare, allowing unlimited journeys on buses and trams for £1.75 on weekends until August 31.
