A New Kosher Dining Option

The Upper West Side has received a delicious upgrade with the opening of Picnic by the Black Parrot. Located north of West 100th Street, this restaurant offers a refreshing menu that moves beyond the usual pizza and shawarma.

A Chef’s First Solo Project

Chef Meir Levy is at the helm, marking his first solo venture after a decade in the New York dining scene. His culinary journey began almost by chance at etc. Steakhouse and has evolved through various roles, including stints in both kosher and non-kosher kitchens. The restaurant’s name, inspired by the striking appearance of a black tulip, reflects Levy’s vision of approachable yet innovative cuisine, with an intention to eventually open a more upscale counterpart called The Black Parrot.
