Ex-NFL Player Tae Crowder Claims He Was Scammed Out of $500,000 in Investment Fraud

Former NFL Player Tae Crowder Loses $500,000 in Investment Scam

ATLANTA – Tae Crowder, a former NFL player from Georgia, recently revealed that he lost $500,000 in an investment scheme involving fellow athletes.

Tae Crowder’s Investment Loss

Crowder, who played for the New York Giants and was last associated with the United Football League, said he invested his life savings, believing it was a legitimate business opportunity. Influenced by peers in the NFL, he decided to invest in online stores in the spring of 2025 after seeing many players jump on board.

“I seen a lot of guys that I know were also investing into the same thing, so I was like, ‘Oh, okay, cool. This should be good,’” he recounted. Crowder invested $500,000, expecting a return of $900,000 by December.

However, when December arrived, he discovered the promised money never materialized. The individual who received his funds provided excuses for months without fulfilling the agreement.

The experience significantly impacted Crowder’s life, disrupting plans that included purchasing a car. “It interfered with everything, my whole life,” he lamented.

Police Report and Investigation

Crowder filed a report with Pennsylvania police, but the man he accused was found dead the following month, leaving Crowder without any recourse for recovery.

“I was super embarrassed. All of my guys involved were embarrassed, but I was like, look, we’re going through this. It’s something we got to face,” he expressed.

Ongoing Recovery Efforts

Crowder is now sharing his experience to caution other athletes against impulsive investments. “I would just tell any younger athletes getting a lot of money… just take your time and don’t try to rush into something because money is how we survive, it’s how we live,” he advised.

To recover his lost savings, Crowder launched a GoFundMe page to support his efforts.

Conclusion

As authorities remain tight-lipped regarding the circumstances surrounding the deceased accused, Crowder hopes his story will resonate with others and prevent similar financial pitfalls.
