New Bakery in Lynchburg Offers Gluten- and Dairy-Free Donuts
Auntie M’s Bakery and Café has officially opened its doors in Lynchburg, Virginia, providing a unique menu dedicated entirely to gluten- and dairy-free donuts. Owner and chef Michaela Buteau launched the bakery out of her personal health journey, which required her to eliminate these ingredients from her diet.
After studying baking and pastry arts, Buteau faced a challenge when she had to adjust her career path due to dietary restrictions. Struggling to find suitable treats inspired her to create a space where others with similar needs could enjoy delicious pastries.
The grand opening was a success, with Buteau preparing around 300 donuts that quickly sold out, exceeding her expectations. The bakery’s name, “Auntie M’s,” reflects her cherished role as an aunt and her commitment to crafting sweet offerings that everyone can enjoy. Auntie M’s provides a welcoming atmosphere for customers to savor coffee and desserts without compromising their dietary needs.
