For Immediate Release
Chicago, IL – August 19, 2026 – Today, Zacks Investment Ideas highlight three notable companies: Palantir Technologies (PLTR), Micron Technology (MU), and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SPCX).
Palantir, SpaceX, and Micron: Buy, Hold, or Sell?
Palantir, SpaceX, and Micron are crucial players within the market, each tied to significant investment themes and showcasing starkly divided opinions among investors. Both Palantir and SpaceX hold substantial valuations and are recognized for their rapid growth—benefiting from industry trends in artificial intelligence, space exploration, and data infrastructure.
Micron, in contrast, faces valuation challenges despite rising demand for advanced memory chips due to its involvement in AI data centers.
Here’s a brief rundown of each company’s position:
Palantir Technologies: The Emerging AI Juggernaut
Palantir recently reported remarkable earnings, with revenue soaring 93% year-over-year and earnings jumping 225%. CEO Alex Karp emphasizes the need for corporate and governmental data control while promoting Palantir’s proprietary AI solutions. The company achieved a net dollar retention of 157%, indicating heightened customer spending. Currently ranked #2 (Buy) by Zacks, the stock trades at about 80x the following year’s earnings. Despite its expensive valuation, rapid growth makes Palantir a standout investment option.
SpaceX: Hyperscaler Acceleration Plus Rockets and Satellites
Once skeptical of SpaceX, I have revised my stance following their latest earnings report—revenue increased 92% year-over-year, with significant growth in both Starlink services and AI/cloud segments. Investment in AI is anticipated to accelerate further, with ambitious revenue goals and substantial cash reserves bolstering its growth narrative. A technical breakout from a consolidation phase adds to the appeal of this captivating investment.
Micron Technologies: AI Winner May See Moderating Stock Performance
Micron is witnessing a unique growth phase, with earnings up 693% year-over-year. Despite strong fundamentals, the cyclical nature of the memory market raises concerns about sustained growth. While Micron’s performance may align with market averages going forward, its current valuation, at about 13x forward earnings, can be misleading.
Should Investors Buy, Hold, or Sell Shares of SPCX, PLTR, and MU?
- Palantir emerges as the most compelling investment option due to consistent growth and positive momentum.
- SpaceX presents a solid opportunity but comes with a demanding valuation.
- Micron transitions to a hold status as its stellar performance may not replicate in the future.
Investors are encouraged to consider where the next wave of growth is occurring rather than pursuing past winners.
