Amazon’s $18 Billion Investment in Louisiana Includes Third Data Center Campus

Amazon Expands Data Center Investment in Louisiana

SHREVEPORT — Amazon is increasing its investment in northwest Louisiana by an additional $6 billion, bringing its total commitment to $18 billion. This expansion will incorporate a third data center campus at Resilient Technology Park in Shreveport, enhancing the company’s presence across Caddo and Bossier parishes.

This latest investment is projected to create 210 direct jobs, with Louisiana Economic Development estimating an additional 499 indirect jobs, totaling 709 new job opportunities in the region. Overall, Amazon’s three campuses in the area are expected to support up to 750 direct jobs, with a potential for 1,784 indirect jobs from the entire project.

This decision to expand follows Amazon’s initial $12 billion announcement made just six months ago. The company is also taking advantage of the state’s Data Center Sales and Use Tax Exemption as part of this major initiative.
