Families take advantage of complimentary summer bus rides for children.

Bus usage in England outside of London has rebounded to about 93% of pre-pandemic levels, with 1.9 billion journeys taken by March 2025. However, rural areas still face challenges due to a reduction in bus routes, prompting the Campaign for Better Transport to advocate for reinstating lost services.

Marrianne Garbutt, managing director of Brylaine, emphasized the importance of bus services in rural areas, where people often need to travel long distances. Her firm offers free, unaccompanied travel for young people aged 12 to 15 who can provide proof of age, supporting their independence and social interactions while saving them money. Other companies participating in this initiative in Lincolnshire include Stagecoach and PC Coaches.
