Energy Secretary Chris Wright visits Brownsville Port for discussions on investment

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright visited the Port of Brownsville to engage with local leaders and industry partners. During his visit, he highlighted a recent approval by the Trump administration of over $3 billion in loans aimed at upgrading the area’s power infrastructure. This initiative is expected to reduce electricity costs and improve reliability for residents.

Wright emphasized the commitment of the administration to job creation and large-scale projects in Brownsville, stating, “Brownsville illustrates exactly what the Trump administration is about.” Although Vice President JD Vance was scheduled to attend the meeting, he had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict.
