Mountain Timbers Storage Acquired by Outwest Investment
Mountain Timbers Storage in Poncha Springs, located at 11190 U.S. 50, has recently been purchased by Outwest Investment, aiming to expand opportunities for local businesses.
Kevin Rifkin, the owner, along with team members Greg Bechler, Riley Hillis, and Rider Stoglin, shared their vision: “We typically focus on affordable housing in mountain towns. We’ve been looking in Salida for some time and saw this storage facility as an opportunity to assist local businesses needing storage solutions.” The acquisition was made in partnership with Snow Creek Group.
Rifkin, originally from Littleton and experienced in real estate, mentioned that Outwest Investment has been dedicated to development that benefits mountain communities for the past five to six years. “The Salida market is very underserved,” he stated.
The facility will cater to local contractors and other businesses needing storage for tools, supplies, trucks, and even larger items like ATVs and RVs. “Our aim is to provide a space for them to establish a base,” he added. They are also working on improvements to the land, which may be utilized for storage or business offices.
“We want to optimize land use by offering affordable space for the community, enabling local businesses to thrive,” Rifkin emphasized.
He also recognized Jeff Post with Colorado Land Office for being instrumental in their acquisition process, noting his strong local connections.
Rifkin expressed his admiration for Salida, describing it as “one of the most beautiful places in Colorado,” while also highlighting concerns about potential national investment overshadowing local initiatives. He reaffirmed their commitment to keeping investments local.
