Every Parent’s Holiday Dilemma: What Kids Really Remember
After a family holiday, it’s common for parents to ask their children about their favorite memories. Surprisingly, it’s often not the breathtaking views or meticulously planned itineraries that stand out. Instead, it’s usually the small surprises—a gift in the hotel room or an unexpected treat—that leave a lasting impression.
Making Hotels Part of the Adventure
Hotels are beginning to realize this shift in what creates meaningful memories for families. Beyond offering just a place to sleep after sightseeing, they’re focusing on creating enriching experiences that integrate the hotel itself into the family vacation.
A great example of this trend is MyMillennium Kids, a recent initiative by Millennium Hotels and Resorts. This program caters to children aged five to ten who are staying with MyMillennium members and seeks to transform a standard hotel stay into an interactive adventure. It offers activities, collectible rewards, and playful surprises that are designed to carry on across many holidays in various countries.
A Program That Grows With You
Launched in Asia on August 1, MyMillennium Kids is now available at select Millennium properties in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and China, with future plans to expand to destinations such as the United States and Europe. Families looking to participate can do so easily by becoming free MyMillennium members upon check-in, unlocking immediate access to the program. Children can look forward to collecting stickers and rewards throughout their stay.
Adventure Passport—A Keepsake for Future Trips
One of the most engaging aspects of this initiative is the Adventure Passport, which children can take with them on future trips. Each hotel has its own uniquely illustrated sticker, encouraging kids to build a collection that showcases the places they’ve visited.
Beyond a simple souvenir, the Adventure Passport is a versatile companion filled with puzzles and coloring pages, inspiring creativity and documenting the family’s travels together.
Magical Surprises Throughout the Stay
The experience doesn’t end at the Adventure Passport. Participating hotels offer a selection of Mini Magical Surprises, personalizing the stay with options like treasure hunts or custom “Do Not Disturb” signs that children can decorate themselves. Completing fun challenges earns children bonus stickers that count toward exciting milestone rewards, such as desserts, toys, or even complimentary room upgrades.
Lasting Family Bonds
More than just a program, MyMillennium Kids fosters a sense of connection among families. Involvement in activities and missions builds memories that can be cherished long after the holiday ends. It’s not just about collecting rewards—it’s about enjoying shared experiences, from solving clues to searching for hidden treasures.
A Continuous Journey
This initiative changes the way families view vacations, transforming each stay into another chapter in their ongoing travel narrative. Collecting stickers and completing adventures at each destination encourages families to keep coming back, enhancing their connection to the program.
In the words of Carolyn Wishnowski, vice president of Global Branding at Millennium Hotels, “By giving young guests their own programme journey and benefits, we are creating a more inclusive MyMillennium experience that delivers greater value for families.”
