The Government’s initiative aims to provide families with affordable options during the school holidays by reducing costs on travel and entertainment.
Free Bus Travel for Kids
- Eligibility: Under-16s can travel for free on most local buses in England.
- Duration: This offer is valid for the entire month of August (August 1 – August 31).
- No Pre-registration Required: Kids can simply hop on and enjoy free travel.
Additional Benefits
- The scheme includes discounts on children’s meals, cinema tickets, and family attractions such as theme parks.
- Discounts:
- TGI Fridays: Free kids’ meals when an adult orders a main.
- Frankie and Benny’s: Free kids’ meal with the purchase of an adult main.
- Morrisons Cafes: Free kids’ meal with an adult meal over £5.
Winter Fare Cap
- A £2 fare cap for all passengers will take effect from next year, reducing the current £3 cap.
- Current Costs: Children’s typical fares range from £1 to £2 per journey.
