Eli Lilly is expanding its partnership with Resilience, committing $750 million to enhance U.S. drug manufacturing capacity, particularly in Cincinnati. This investment aims to significantly boost production of Lilly’s KwikPen injectable device, designed for diabetes and obesity treatments, with full operations set to begin early next year.
In February, Lilly received FDA approval for Zepbound in a multi-dose KwikPen, which offers a month of treatment in one device. The expansion is expected to create at least 400 jobs in the Cincinnati area, increasing the total number of jobs created by Resilience in Ohio to 1,400.
Resilience, founded in 2020 and backed by substantial investments, has been rapidly expanding its manufacturing capacity, with plans to continue partnerships with major pharmaceutical companies. The collaboration with Lilly began in 2023, with Resilience producing over 150 million doses for Lilly so far.
Overall, this investment reflects Lilly’s commitment to manufacturing innovations, supporting their production of critical obesity treatments.
