The Body Shop Bar & Grill, a unique automotive-themed venue, is set to open in mid-October at 2229 Hickory Ave., Harahan, Jefferson Parish. This concept merges classic car culture with a full-service bar and grill, transforming the former McKinley’s Irish Pub into a vibrant destination.
Co-owners Lori Gremillion, Brad Johnson, and Chris Timpone, who also run Street Dreams New Orleans, have designed the venue to offer a one-of-a-kind experience. The building will incorporate a functioning automotive body shop and paint booth alongside the front bar and grill, allowing guests to enjoy live music while watching car restoration in action.
Gremillion emphasizes the blend of the two environments, aiming to create a community gathering spot. Major renovations have been made to establish a full kitchen, which will serve high-end steakburgers, prime cuts of meat, charcuterie, and scratch-made Louisiana dishes.
In addition to food, they will offer a variety of beverages, including an extensive mocktail menu and dirty sodas, appealing to a diverse clientele. A soft opening is planned for mid-October, with a grand opening in December featuring live music on an outdoor stage.
