– $60,000 for the renovation of the James Rushton Early Learning Center playground
– $1 million for the Junior Achievement Economic Education Center
– $4.1 million for renovations to Birmingham City Schools basketball courts
– $40 million to establish a Future Ready Career and Innovation Center at the former Arthur School site
Mayor Woodfin emphasized the investment’s potential to strengthen public schools and prepare students for future careers. The initiative will offer programming in health sciences, trades, automotive services, law enforcement, education, and advanced manufacturing, benefiting approximately 3,200 students annually.
