Ripley County Community Foundation Announces First Round of Sally Morris Impact Grants
The Ripley County Community Foundation (RCCF) is proud to announce that eleven nonprofit organizations have been awarded a total of $50,000 in the first round of the Sally Morris Impact Grants. These grants are aimed at fostering meaningful and lasting impacts across Ripley County.
Investing in Community Growth
This grant initiative, funded through Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT initiative, honors retired Executive Director Sally Morris, whose leadership has left a significant mark on the culture of philanthropy and community engagement in the area. The Sally Morris Community Impact Grant program aims to encourage innovative ideas that will enhance local quality of life through the support of projects in key areas:
- Arts & Culture
- Education & Workforce Development
- Health & Well-Being
- Environment & Natural Resources
These grants are not just about immediate funding; they are about fostering long-term positive change that will benefit future generations.
Grant Recipients and Their Projects
Here’s a list of the organizations and the specific funding they received:
- Batesville Fire and Rescue – $10,000 for training room renovations.
- Lifetime Resources – $8,000 to secure matching funds for a new Catch-A-Ride vehicle.
- Milan CARES – $8,000 for the 2026 Summer Camp.
- National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association – $5,000 for renovations of the historic Rand House.
- Safe Passage – $5,000 for a new universal door access system.
- Batesville United Methodist Church – $3,500 for the Luke 4:18 meal program.
- Tyson Library – $2,500 for new public access computers.
- Versailles American Legion – $2,500 for an electronic sign installation.
- Batesville American Legion – $2,500 for renovations to the Legion Hall.
- People Assisting Animals In Need (PAAIN) – $1,500 for new cat enclosures.
- St. Nicholas Catholic Church – $1,500 for a security system for the school.
These projects are key to enhancing community services, education, food security, historic preservation, and more.
Second Round of Funding Open for Applications
The RCCF is currently accepting applications for the second round of Sally Morris Community Impact Grants. Nonprofits can apply for grants up to $10,000 by August 7, 2026.

The community’s involvement is crucial for these initiatives. Contributions from individuals, families, and businesses help sustain these grants through the Lilly Endowment GIFT IX initiative, which offers a $2-for-$1 matching opportunity for donations to unrestricted endowment funds.
